It's the little things I love

|
I was a hopeless romantic from the start. My very first boyfriend, Adam, was my kindergarten experience with puppy love. He had ears that stuck straight out and was always in the front row of class pictures with the girls who were also too short for row 2. He told me he wanted to sit by me in music class, and if I didn't, he was going to dump me the next day. Well, the teacher didn't sit me by him, and I feared he was going to stick me in a trash can the next morning. Yeah, that MUST be what "dumped" means.

It's the imperfect things that make someone perfect. Big ears and short stature have turned into a dimpled chin and unruly hair. I listen to your rare, soft snore and it lulls me back to sleep. You shoot me a look, and I know what it means. You mumble through a mouth full of toothpaste, and I understand it as if you are speaking words. And I'll forever cherish that secret language only understood in a close relationship. As we carry on a conversation while we brush our teeth, it assures me that we're truly in sync.

I'll forever cherish the little things.

Sentimental Moments

|

Wedding photographers are sensitive. We document life's happiest moments, and it's our job to catch the moments in between... the words written between the lines. Not only in romantic relationships, but in the relationships formed between family members and friends.

I received a picture message last night on my phone and opened it up to a snapshot of a book with the caption "Can you read this paragraph? It's from a book I'm reading. Made me think of you. :) Glad we are friends."

From Ohio to Texas to Charlotte, I have met some of the most amazing women who never seem to stop making me feel needed. I was flooded with messages Friday for my birthday, received cards in the mail, and had a surprise Sunday brunch thrown for me. For the love you show, I am so so grateful to my best friends. Thank you, ladies, from the bottom of my heart. xoxo.

Wedding photography sneak peek, complete with a tattooed bride

It's no secret that I have an obsession with tattooed brides when it comes to wedding photography. This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Sabrina + Kenny and somehow, Sabrina even made crossing the street look fashionable. Obviously, I now want vintage sunglasses. Obviously.
